Hannah Builds Brands That Finally Match the Vision

Some entrepreneurs start businesses because they have a carefully mapped-out plan. Others start because life unexpectedly closes one door and reveals another.

For Hannah Hernandez, founder of EQBM Design Company, what began as freelancing after college eventually became a thriving graphic design studio dedicated to helping entrepreneurs build brands that reflect who they truly are and where they're headed.

Today, Hannah specializes in brand strategy, visual identity design, and websites for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and nonprofits. Her mission is simple but powerful: create brands that are as intentional as the businesses behind them.

"I help people show up like they mean it," Hannah says.

And for many of her clients, that changes everything.

Betting on Herself

Like many entrepreneurs, Hannah's journey didn't begin with a master plan.

In 2020, she was fresh out of college, juggling freelance projects while applying for full-time graphic design positions.

After receiving a promising opportunity with a marketing company in Chicago, the pandemic abruptly changed those plans.

What could have felt like a setback became a turning point.

Instead of waiting for another opportunity, Hannah realized she could create one herself.

"I've always been an entrepreneur," she says. "I just never realized I could choose my own path and believe in myself until that point."

She formed her LLC in August 2020, spent the following months building a strong foundation, and officially launched EQBM Design Company in January 2021.

She's never looked back.

Helping Big Dreams Look the Part

While Hannah works with a variety of clients, she's especially passionate about serving ambitious entrepreneurs and small business owners who are building something meaningful.

The people she loves working with most are often self-taught, resourceful, and relentlessly driven.

They're the founders doing incredible work behind the scenes but whose brand no longer reflects the level they're operating at.

"My favorite clients are the ones who are wildly ambitious and doing way more than anyone gave them credit for," Hannah explains. "They just need their brand to finally catch up to their vision."

Whether clients are launching from scratch, refreshing an outdated brand, or stepping into a completely new chapter of business, Hannah helps create visuals and strategy that communicate confidence before they ever say a word.

Confidence Is a Business Strategy

Ask Hannah about client transformations, and she won't immediately talk about logos, websites, or color palettes.

Instead, she talks about confidence.

While beautiful branding matters, the transformation that happens underneath the surface matters even more.

"When you stop second-guessing how to explain what you do, and your visuals finally say it for you, everything shifts."

She's watched clients use rebrands to:

  • Sell out events

  • Secure partnerships they previously felt intimidated to pursue

  • Increase visibility and credibility

  • Raise funds for causes they deeply believe in

  • Step into leadership roles with greater confidence

For Hannah, the true transformation is helping entrepreneurs believe they're worthy of taking up space.

"Confidence is underrated as a business strategy."

Recognition From the Community

Like many creatives, Hannah tends to focus more on her clients' successes than her own.

That's why being recognized by her community in 2025 was especially meaningful.

At the end of the year, EQBM Design Company was awarded Gold for both Graphic Design and Website Design through CommunityVotes.

"I'm not someone who submits for awards," Hannah says. "So it was really exciting to be recognized by the community in that way."

The award served as validation for years of hard work, creative excellence, and commitment to helping businesses show up at their highest level.

Growing Alongside the Business

Entrepreneurship has transformed Hannah in ways she never expected.

As a solo business owner, she's learned to wear countless hats, navigate uncertainty, and place herself in rooms she once never imagined entering.

Perhaps most importantly, she's learned to trust herself.

"I've become so much more self-assured than I ever was before."

That confidence now shows up in every client interaction, every strategic recommendation, and every piece of content she creates.

Rather than shrinking to fit expectations, Hannah has embraced her personality, perspective, and voice—qualities that make her work stand out in a crowded industry.

Why Founding Females®?

When Hannah joined the Founding Females® Mastermind during Membership Week in January 2025, she knew she needed something more.

She had reached a point where she felt stuck—neither declining nor truly growing.

What she needed was community.

More specifically, she needed proximity to women who had already achieved what she was working toward.

"I needed to be in rooms with founders who had more experience than me and weren't afraid to share it."

Since joining, she's found exactly what she was looking for: support, wisdom, accountability, and women genuinely invested in one another's success.

"The knowledge and willingness to help each other here is exactly the fire under my ass I needed to progress in my business."

The Future of EQBM Design Company

As Hannah looks ahead, her vision extends far beyond design. She sees EQBM evolving into a true one-stop shop for entrepreneurs who are ready to elevate their presence and authority.

Her goal is to provide not only visual branding but also strategy, messaging, and eventually a team that can support clients through every stage of growth.

She wants clients to arrive with a vision and leave with everything they need to confidently take up space in their industry.

It's an ambitious vision and exactly the kind of vision Hannah helps her clients bring to life every day.

Hannah's Message to Fellow Entrepreneurs

If there's one thing Hannah wants other women to know, it's this:

Keep going.

Whether you're doubting yourself, hearing criticism from others, or navigating one of the hardest seasons of your business journey, don't stop.

"You never know what you can accomplish if you just keep saying, 'Watch what I can do.'"

It's advice she's lived herself.

And it's the same spirit that's helped her build a business that empowers others to dream bigger, show up bolder, and create brands that finally match the impact they're making.
