Business Mastermind Feature: Heidi Esther, Joyologist

Curious to connect with women business owners, world changers, and boss babes?

Our brand new Business Mastermind series features women business owners who are lifting the tide for all of us.

Building a successful business goes way beyond publishing a website and posting on social media. It means building strong relationships with people you can grow alongside.

After all, growing into the person capable of running wildly successful business in your vision isn’t about what you do as much as it’s about the community you surround yourself with.

This Business Mastermind Feature Series spotlights women in the Founding Females® women’s mastermind group so we can create a tighter web where women-led businesses uplift one another.

The women business owners you’ll meet bring value to the community of women in unique ways. I’m delighted to share their growth and success with you!

First, let’s cover one big question: What is a women’s business mastermind?

What is the Founding Females® Women’s Business Mastermind?

The Founding Females® women business mastermind is a female entrepreneur community that connects daily inside a dedicated online space designed for connection.

Inside is a buzzing conversation about business topics that really matter to small business owners, like effective marketing, managing finances like a boss, how to grow beyond a one-woman shop, and personal development tips that translate into mindset growth.

Each month, members have access to a transformative mastermind call where members share their business wisdom for growth on specific business topics.

For example, last month, we got clear on profit strategies and next month, we’ll talk about effective marketing tips.

Mastermind calls are one of the impactful way we collectively help advance each other as business owners.

Community Over Competition

The Mastermind is a non-judgemental space for women to connect over wins and challenges with other success-minded women.

Society tells us if we share wins, we’re bragging, but that’s not how it works inside the Mastermind.

Instead, members often share wins not because they’re bragging, but because they want to empower other women with specialized knowledge. And of course, there’s lots of celebrating inside.

Women in the community understand what it’s like to run a business and exchange support and feedback that actually makes a difference in how you run your business.

We’re a collective of energized business owners who know there’s enough success to go around.

I.e. Your success doesn’t detract from mine.

We have willing hearts to guide and support each other through challenging and rewarding seasons of business.

Without further ado, let’s connect you with a woman business owner who elevates the vibe daily in our female entrepreneur community: Heidi Esther.

Women’s Mastermind Group Feature

Our second Mastermind Feature in the series is Heidi Esther, Joyologist, from Heidi Esther Unlimited, LLC. Read on to hear all about Heidi’s mission, her undeniable super powers, and the transformation she creates for her clients.

FF: Heidi, please introduce us to you as a Joyologist.

Heidi: Hello, beautiful! I'm Heidi Esther, Joyologist. Lovely to meet you! I walk alongside Helpers and Women who Do It All who are Done with Survival-Mode and are Ready to embrace their Authentic Brilliance and Live their Thrive-Zone.

I accomplish this through one on one coaching, keynotes, workshops and books.

FF: Tell us about how your business came to be.

Heidi: While trying to take care of my world, I meandered through a decade in life’s trenches.

At the end, during the heart of pandemic shutdown, I discovered something more miraculous than dark chocolate! My Joy.

I couldn't believe my life - I could get to Joy, everyday, when everyone else around me was miserable.

Me! - just a helper, a mom, a fundraiser - could find that peace and calm and flow in my heart, no matter what was going on around me.
The best part? The more I leaned into self growth and care, the more I had to give, and the more I was on fire (I am a Leo, after all) to give this gift to other Women who Take Care of the World.
What started as a blog, became a book, then a system of keynotes, workshops, circles, and coaching. Now, I lead through emotional intelligence and my signature strategic framework, the Goldfish Leadership System.

FF: Who do you love working with and helping?

Heidi: My best fit client is someone who identifies as a Woman who Takes Care of the World or a Helper who is ready to make a change, for them.

By lifting up our Helpers, I am walking alongside them so they can see and embrace what I see - their innate brilliance. That they are not "just" anyone. Not the sidekick. Not the damsel. Not the evil stepmother. But the brilliant, brave, deserving, joyful Heroes of their own stories.

FF: Tell us about how you help clients reach their goals?

I was so moved by your words. It felt like you knew exactly what I needed in this season of not knowing anything at all. Since your talk, I have had your words reminding me “I am worthy of joy” and “my happiness comes first” as a constant rhythm in my head. The whole event spoke new life into my weary bones and showed me a version of myself that I never thought I could be. I am marking today as the first day I let go of being the damsel in distress, and become the Heroine of my story. - Megan Woodson, keynote attendee

Wow! What an amazing journey. I learned so much about myself through this course and will continue to refer to the materials. Heidi makes vulnerable topics feel safe and accessible with her relatable, heart-centered style. Heidi shows up as a “human in progress” (her words) and that makes it easier for the rest of us to put down our perfectionism and do the same. This is a new look at self-help. Heidi incorporates stories, coloring, and games into the work of self-discovery. This stuff can be serious and heavy, but with Heidi’s guidance, it is a little easier to remember that life is fun and joy is everywhere. - Lisa Merrifield, workshop participant

FF: How would you describe your own personal growth journey through entrepreneurship?

Heidi: My journey in entrepreneurship can be encapsulated in two concepts: Listening Forward and Work-Life Integration.
To make all of the hundreds of decisions and pivots necessary to not burn out again and make my most effective decisions, I Listen Forward to my next steps. Meaning, I make myself open to continually let go of what isn't working and lean into something new.
The question I most often get is "How can I do this without regret, doubt, and with the energy I need to continue?" I continually utilize the framework of my Goldfish Self-Leadership System.

The pillars of this system - Worthiness, Resilience, Support, Emotional Intelligence, and Self-Wisdom - make sure that I am not moving from a place of stress, lack, ego, people-pleasing, or fear.

The Goldfish Leadership System helps me continually accept and learn from whatever weird or peculiar or dark piece of me shows up and then integrates it into a strength.

So I don't waste that energy on keeping things hidden. Yes, even my receding hairline has become a strength, lol.

Work-Life Integration. I work about half time creating my movement. The other half, I'm a wife, mom, cook, friend, and community volunteer.

I decided, when I started my business, that there was no longer a difference between the Heidi at home and the Heidi at work.

While boundaries are of paramount importance, especially when work and home are, literally, at the same place, my authenticity does not change from one mode to the next.

I am the same person. Sometimes in pajama pants, sometimes saddle shoes and taco socks. The same joyful me :)

We’re in open enrollment! Be part of something special by joining Heidi and the strong female founder community inside the Founding Females® Mastermind.

FF: What are your favorite business topics to discuss?

Heidi: My most favorite topics to discuss are those that I can offer an empathetic and strategic ear on and help other business owners become more authentic, driven, and joyful in their paths - cultivating self-worth (<spoiler alert - this is at the root of most of our issues), developing resiliency, asking for support (<spoiler alert - close second), growing emotional intelligence, and understanding self-wisdom to see our own Peculiar Genius.

FF: Why did you decide to join the Founding Females® Mastermind?

Heidi: As someone who has had a hard time in the past with asking for help, who came from a male-dominated background with brothers and a degree in engineering, I was aware I needed some fierce females to walk alongside if I was going to make my dream of "helping the helpers" come true.

And then I met Francie, realized how DIY Dolly (one of her ideal clients) I really was, and was all in. Her community is authentic, empowering, inspiring, and welcoming.

Francie is energetic, passionate, and so incredibly wise beyond her years. I am blessed to be able to give AND receive in her community.

FF: What else should we know about you?

For all the self-discovery nerds...I'm an enneagram so 2w3 (The Hostess), Meyers Briggs ENFJ, Si on the disc, and have Empathy, Strategy, Connectedness, Positivity, and Communication as my Clifton Strengths.

I'm a Leo Sun, Scorpio Moon, and a Capricorn rising. All this to say, this cookie-baking heart-centered, organized, deep momma is always up for a coffee chat with women who are ready to create more joy and themselves in their lives. I even have a calendar > https://heidiesther.com/calendar/#discovery

FF: Let’s get connected! Share with us where you’re spending time.
